DOCTOR/MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL NEEDED:

Joel and Janette Miller, missionaries in Mexico, are seeking assistance in running a medical clinic to assist the mexican people.

Background: Joel and Janette have been running this clinic as part of their ministry, but will be returning to the U.S. on a year's furlow and need a medical professional to keep the the clinic running in their absence.

Timing: The assignment would begin June 2008. The Millers will be stateside until July or August of 2009, so the maximum amount of time needed is around 15 months. However, the assignments could range from as low as 3 months if several doctors could be used in rotation during the time the Millers are absent.

Qualifications: A family physician or other doctor with a general knowledge of medicine and pediatrics would be a perfect fit. A full range of ages and diseases are treated at the clinic. Medical Spanish might be a benefit for this position, but is not necessary, as translators are available. The hours of the clinic are limited so the position would be ideal for someone on sabbatical, as well as someone simply seeking to do something different with their medical skills.

About the Clinic: Consultorio Medico Shalom is a church-run clinic and is located right across from the mission house, where the doctor would reside for his tenure. It is only open 3 days a week (although it could be open more, if desired). As mentioned before, the clinic treats almost anyone who comes to the door no matter what age or illness.
